Recently, I just celebrated my birthday, which lasted well over a week full of presents, treats, and definitely no Keto foods. Getting the few days off of work, spending time with my family and friends, and enjoying the little things made me realize that sometimes I don't take care of myself the way I'd like to. Self-care is so important to keep our minds and bodies healthy, and I felt it necessary to share with you some of my favorite ways to perform self care.
1. Spa Day!
Now, I don't get special treats like THIS all the time, but it sure is worth it every once in a while. The Waldorf Astoria Boca Raton Resorts give you the experience of a lifetime when step into their spa. Immediately, you get hit with that "spa smell" (anyone else know what I'm talking about?!) My tensed body and stressful mind came to a relaxing halt once I stepped through those doors! And not to mention the packages they have to choose from. I'm the type of person who could get a massage all day, so that was my go-to. But, they have facial, manis/pedis, and so much more that you could use if you're in the need. One of my gal pals, Audrey, works here and was able to get us in with her discount. Now, I know what you're thinking: "That's too expensive!" Websites like Groupon can help you find that right spa and price!
2. Salty AND Sweet!
As you may or may not know, my fiancé (Steven) and I have been going hard with the Keto Diet (don't worry, I'll be posting recipes!) However, y'all already know I was not going to be celebrating my birthday and not chow down! I didn't go too crazy, but after our little spa trip, we went to Serendipity in the hotel. I knew I was going to have my sweet treat tonight at dinner, so I had the BEST chicken tenders I've ever had. Later that night, I have a Monkey Bread "cookie" with vanilla ice cream on top at dinner. I am not a definite Team Salty or Team Sweet kind of gal, I can never choose between the two! However, if I keep it in moderation, and still enjoy myself, I can find the perfect balance between the two! Are you Team Salty or Team Sweet? Let me know! I want to hear your favorite treats!
3. Shopping
I love some retail therapy. Especially if it is on sale. My mom and I ran to Sawgrass Mills Mall to their Nordstrom Rack, and stocked up on some goodies. I snagged a super cute outfit I can wear for student teaching (I'll be sure to have a dedicated post to it, and one about how I shop and what sales I look for!) Having fun with mom and being around all my favorite brands certainly did a good job of clearing my mind of the stresses life can bring down on me.
I hope you all find out your favorite ways to take care of yourself. Leave me comments! I want to know how you #selfcare
Definitely cannot choose between salty and sweet! Love them both!
Yes Yes Yes!
